Visakhapatnam, December 17: Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting M.Venkaiah Naidu today said that India is facing challenges of black money and corruption and that digital transactions is the need of the hour.
Speaking at the inauguration of VUDA Children Arena and Children Theatre here, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced demonetization to check black money and corruption.
Venkaiah Naidu said the move would help in direct benefit transfer for the poorest of the poor.
He said that NDA Government initiated several welfare measures for children.
The central minister described VUDA Children Theatre as one of the best theatres in India. He hoped that it will promote entertainment, science and technology, literary programmes and preserve the Indian cultural heritage.
He urged the children not to forget motherland mother tongue and mother.
Film festival will be held in Visakhapatnam next week. Nine patriotic films like Alluri Sitha Rama Raju, Nethaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Lokamanya Thilak , I am kalam, Iqbal, Sardar , Border , Lagan, Chak de India will be screened during three day film festival.
