Visakhapatnam, January 2: Popular actor and Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan will visit Uddanam region of Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam district tomorrow to meet and interact with those suffering from chronic kidney diseases.
He tweeted today that he will be visiting the region widely known as Konaseema of north coastal Andhra.
“But beneath this scenic beauty ..for reasons unknown …20,000 plus people right from newborns to old age had died of chronic kidney disease in the last two decades,” he tweeted.
“Currently lakhs are affected with this chronic kidney disease known as ‘Uddanam Nephropathy’. Successive governments and honourable legislative members of the last two decades could not address this issue effectively,” he added.
The actor said when this issue was brought to Jana Sena’s notice, the party’s media team went and documented their suffering
The party has uploaded the video on its youtube channel to highlight the pain and the seriousness of the issue
According to the World Health Organisation, Uddanam if one of the three regions in the world with the highest concentration of chronic kidney diseases.
