Hyderabad, February 17: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao today turned 63.
His birthday is being celebrated across the state by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders and activists.
The celebrations were held since early morning in Hyderabad and 30 other districts.
Ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other public representatives of the TRS cut the cake to mark the birthday of their leader.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Governor E. S. L. Narasimhan were among the first to greet him.
At Telangana Bhavan, the TRS headquarters, KCR’s daughter and Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha cut the cake along with Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali and Home Minister N. Narasimha Reddy.
Kavitha, who also inaugurated a photo exhibition on KCR, recalled the key role played TRS chief in achieving the goal of Telangana state.
She hoped that now the goal of ‘bangaru Telangana’ will be achieved under the leadership of KCR.
Mahmood Ali prayed for good health and long life for KCR to steer the state on the path of all round development.
Narasimha Reddy said KCR would overcome all hurdles being created by some parties and achieve ‘bangaru Telangana’ by irrigating one crore acres of land.
KCR’s son and state minister K. Tarakarama Rao, who is visiting Mumbai, extended birthday greetings.
“To the greatest son of Telangana, a Peerless leader & a Fearless fighter, proud that he is my father. Wish you a very Happy Birthday Dad,” tweeted KTR.
Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, SC development minister and other leaders currently visiting China also celebrated KCR’s birthday.
The team led by Srihari is on a visit to China to study giant statues and discuss with sculptors construction of a 125-foot-high statue of B. R. Ambedkar in Hyderabad.
