Amaravati, February 24: Israel’s ambassador to India, Daniel Carmon Thursday called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Velagapudi Secretariat.
The ambassador offered cooperation from the Government of Israel in providing latest technologies in areas relating to homeland security, cyber security, Internet of Things (IOT), agriculture, education, water and health.
They also offered to collaborate in setting up of desalination plants to meet the needs of drinking and irrigation water.
Daniel called for strengthening of Israel- Andhra Pradesh Joint Working Group to improve cooperation in various fields. He stated that the Center Of Excellence in Agriculture which is being set up in Kuppam will be completed at an early date and will benefit the farmer community by providing knowledge, training and capacity building.
He also invited the Chief Minister to visit Israel.
Naidu welcomed the initiatives taken up by the Israeli government in promoting the cooperation in various fields of agriculture and other sectors, in particular in the water management sector.
The Chief Minister agreed to strengthen the Joint Working Group between Israel and Andhra Pradesh and appointed the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board as the nodel agency to oversee the progress and cooperation
The Chief Minister also invited the Israeli government to set up centers of innovation and research and cooperate in the fields of education by setting up a university in the state.
He has agreed to visit Israel in the near future and take the cooperation forward.
Naidu also invited Israel defence companies to set up their manufacturing basses in Andhra Pradesh. He said that a proper ecosystem will be provided for aerospace and defence companies from Israel.
