Hyderabad, March 18: Actress Jayasudha, whose husband Nitin Kapoor committed suicide in Mumbai on March 14, today said that she is finally at peace.
“My beloved husband, confidante and companion, Nitin Kapoor, is with the angels now and is finally at peace – peace that he was trying to find for a long time,” she said in a statement on Facebook.
“Depression is a real and very overpowering medical condition. I would appreciate the media not sensationalizing this dark event in my life and respect it for what it is. My family’s privacy, in our time of grief, is of utmost importance to me right now,” she said.
“Today, 32 years ago, I married my husband. It is our wedding anniversary. On this day I reminisce in the beautiful times that we spent together. I know that wherever he is, he is looking down at us and protecting us with his love. May God’s grace bless him with eternal peace and happiness,” she added.
Kapoor was jobless for the last 18 years. He was under depression for the last one-and-a half years and undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
Nitin Kapoor was the cousin of Bollywood actor Jithendra and got married to actress Jayasudha in the year 1985 after two years of love.
