Warangal, April 7: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu today visited Warangal to attend a marriage of son of a senior TDP leader.
Naidu, who reached here by a helicopter, attended the marriage of former MLA from Mulugu, D. Sitakka’s son at Vishnu Priya Garden in Hanamkonda.
Naidu’s chopper landed in Warangal Arts College grounds and from there he drove to the marriage venue.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief blessed the couple and greeted Seetakka and her family members.
Naidu was accompanied by TDP’s Telangana leaders L. Ramana, Revanth Reddy and others.
Warangal Urban police had made elaborate security arrangements for Naidu’s visit.
This was Naidu’s first to Warangal after a long time. He had not visited any town in Telangana outside Hyderabad since bifurcation of the state in 2014.
TDP received several setbacks in Telangana over two-and-half years. The biggest blow came last year when senior leader E. Dayakar Rao, hailing from Warangal district, defected to ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
