Telugu film industry hits back at TDP

The Telugu film industry had hit back at the TDP for its accusations. The TDP had sought to blame the film industry for not speaking for the State, particularly on the special category status and other demands. TDP MLC Y V B Rajendra Prasad accused the film industry of being irresponsible to the people and the State by not being part of the present agitations for the special category status. The TDP which survived on the film glamour, though NTR never did that, is now finding things tough in the absence of the support.

Chandrababu Naidu since his successful August 1995 take over against NTR had been winning the elections with the support of the BJP and the film industry. There was not a single election that he had won without this support. Now, ahead of the next elections, he finds himself alone. This makes the TDP leaders fear of losing the election. It is for this reason, the TDP wanted the Tollywood glamour to support it.

One fails to understand why the TDP had blamed the entire Tollywood when it has great stars from the Nandamuri family alone. Balakrishna is there as MLA. Harikrishna stands there as former MP. There are young heroes, Junior NTR, Taraka Rathna, from the same family. Why is the TDP not using them now before blaming the other heroes and the rest from the industry?

It is a fact that the party cannot go to the Nandamuri family except Balakrishna and Harikrishna.Ironically, Chandrababu Naidu cannot go to Jr. NTR again as he used him in the elections and discorded him later . Then, he cannot go to Taraka Rathna, who is not so popular. Interestingly, Chandrababu Naidu is not ready to seek the help of Nara Rohit . It is for all these reasons the TDP wants others from the film industry to stand by him rebuilding his lost image and also counter Pawan Kalyan.

The film industry had responded sharply. Thammareddi Bharadwaja, Posani Krishna Murali, Kathi Mahesh have raised several questions on the TDP intentions. They wanted clarity from Chandrababu Naidu and his TDP on the Special category status issue which he may not be able to do. He does not even accept questions from the people on his changing stands frequently to suit to his opportunist politics.

Since the film industry had responded, it is now for the TDP to answer the questions and seek their support.
