It is clear now. The TDP has its own agenda. The agenda is just to follow whatever the YSR Congress does in the name of demand for the Special Category Status. In other words, the TDP’s agenda is to do a counter agitation to the YSR Congress.
The TDP chief had directed the MPs to stay in Delhi for some more time. Though the party had decided to take up a bus yatra in all the 175 Assembly constituencies after the Parliament session is over, they have deferred the yatra as the YSR Congress MPs are on indefinite hunger strike. Even the other day when YSR Congress honorary president Y S Vijayamma visited the hunger strike camp at AP Bhavan, the TDP MPs looked so worried that they have cancelled the scheduled press conference and went for a flash protest at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The measure was only to divert the attention of the media from going to the Vijayamma’s programme.
Vijayamma is not a voracious orator nor is she politically a strong leader. Still, the TDP looked nerves and tried to hijack the media by taking up a protest at the PMO rather than holding a press conference. Perhaps, this is what had made the BJP leaders in Andhra Pradesh to nail TDP and Chandrababu Naidu.
Visakhapatnam MP and BJP State president Kambhampati Haribabu accused Chandrababu Naidu of following Jagan Mohan Reddy. He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu was in the trap of Jagna Mohan Reddy and was doing whatever the YSR Congress does against the BJP. Though people may not accept it, the BJP leader alleged a political nexus between Chandrababu Naidu and Jagan Mohan Reddy.
It is not for the first time that Chandrababu Naidu had changed his political strategy to follow Jagan Mohan Reddy. There were several incidents, including the drafting of the election manifesto in 2014. In the recent past, the issues like no confidence motion against the government, stands as clear example where Chandrababu Naidu followed Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The TDP chief had first ruled out the possibility of serving notices for the no confidence motion against the NDA government on the grounds that it does not serve any purpose as the NDA enjoys greater numbers in Parliament. However, he had to follow suit once the YSR Congress decided to slap the notices.
One wonders why Chandrababu Naidu is following Jagan Mohan Reddy and making every counter move, when he can have his own strategy. The media that supports the TDP and Chandrababu Naidu gives greater importance to these counter moves pushing Jagan Mohan Reddy’s agitation, though both are more interested in political mileage than getting benefits to the State. The media too is thus betraying the people by protecting the political interests of the parties than the interests of the State and the people.
