BJP leaders from Andhra Pradesh held protests in support of the party chief Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s day long protest in Parliament in protest against disturbance in Parliament by the Opposition parties.
BJP AP president and Visakhapatnam MP Kambhampati Haribabu and floor leader in AP Assembly P Vishnukumar Raju sat in protest at the government college in Visakhapatnam. In Bhimavaram, local Narsapur MP Gokaraju Gangaraju led the protest, while in Vijayawada, party MP G V L Narasimha Rao led the protest. In other places too, the BJP leaders held the protest in support of the Prime Minister.
Surprisingly, in all the places, the CPI and the Left activists held protests to question the BJP leaders on the betrayal to the State. The activists raised slogans against the BJP for denying the special category status to the State and going back on all the promises made to the people. Tension prevailed in Visakhapatnam and Bhimavaram with the Left parties organising counter protest.
In Vijayawada, the Communist parties organised a counter protest at Lenin Centre which was supported by the YSR Congress, Congress, Jana Sena and Aam Admi Party, besides the representatives of various organisations including the employees’ organisations.
G V L Narasimha Rao in Vijayawada told media persons that they would expose the TDP and its dubious role in getting the benefits to the State. He alleged that the TDP had aligned with the Congress in disturbing the BJP’s administration. He said that Chandrababu Naidu was trying to take back the TDP to his parent party, the Congress. He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu was working as per the directions of the Congress chief Rahul Gandhi in maligning the BJP.
The BJP leader said that the party would come out with the facts about the special assistance given to the State by the Narendra Modi-led NDA government. He further said that the BJP would also expose the TDP’s failure in utilising the funds and providing utilisation certificates to the Centre on the funds given by the Centre. He said that the TDP government had also diverted the funds given by the Central government under various accounts. The funds were mostly misused, he said and added that the BJP would expose the issues in the days to come. He appealed to the people not to be misled by the TDP on the Central government’s assistance to the State.
BJP State president Haribabu said that the Opposition parties including the Congress and TDP have disrupted the Parliament without discussing the issues concerning the people. He said that the BJP was ready for discussion on the no confidence motion. However, the TDP and the Congress did not allow the House to be conducted in order and take up discussion on the no confidence motion.
