Jagan, Pawan and Left to go together

It is almost clear now. The alliance in Opposition parties is finalised and the only thing to be cleared is the number of seats to be shared. If this works out positively, the YSR Congress, Jana Sena and the two Left parties would go together in the State in the next elections. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Pawan Kalyan would share the dais and campaign together along with the CPI and the CPM against Chandrababu Naidu.

The TDP, BJP and the Congress are likely to go alone though Chandrababu Naidu is reportedly working to build alliance with the Congress in the two Telugu states. The Congress and the BJP have no chances of winning even a single seat this time. The Congress might benefit if it aligns with the TDP, which has to be worked out at the national level. But, if the Congress ties up with the TDP, there is a possibility of several senior leaders, including K V P Ramachandra Rao quitting Congress in protest as they are not ready to work with Chandrababu Naidu.

According to the inside sources, initial talks are over between the YSR Congress and the Jana Sena. Jagan Mohan Reddy had agreed for a tie-up with Jana Sena too along with the CPI and the CPM. Initially, Jagan Mohan Reddy had decided to share 10 to 15 seats to the CPI and CPM in alliance. The Left parties may not insist on more than what is offered to them.

The only issue is the number of seats to be given to the Jana Sena. The sources said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had agreed to give 30 seats to Jana Sena, while Pawan Kalyan is asking for 45, with focus on East and West Godavari districts. This 15 seats difference between Pawan Kalyan and Jagan Mohan Reddy is being worked out by the friends of the two leaders and some politicians. They are also working on the possible date and venue for the first meeting of Jagan Mohan Reddy and Pawan Kalyan and it would be positively after Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Praja Sankalpa Yatra. The first meeting is also likely to be held in Bengalore or Delhi and not in the Telugu States.

Pawan Kalyan had decided to take on the TDP chief as he believes that there is a witch-hunt by the TDP chief. Surprisingly, after Pawan Kalyan moved away from the TDP, Chandrababu Naidu had roped in a small-time actor Sivaji in his favour. This actor is now beating the drums for Chandrababu Naidu and is said to be funded by the TDP. Though Sivaji is no match to Pawan Kalyan in popularity or political clarity, the TDP wants to use him for its campaign.

However, once Jagan and Pawan meet is executed, the politics of Andhra Pradesh will take a new turn making this tough for Chandrababu Naidu to retain his power.
