The Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in Andhra Pradesh took strong objections to Telugu Desam Part’s chief Chandrababu Naidu for campaigning against their party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The leaders accuse Chandrababu Naidu of presenting morphed video clips to defame the BJP and Modi with ‘bunch of false charges’.
The BJP leaders spoke to the media at Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati ahead of Chandrababu Naidu’s Dharma Porata Sabha in Tirupati. The leaders raised objections to the presentation of video clips containing the speech of Modi and presentation of misleading facts relating to the Central government’s support to the State in the last four years.
“The Chief Minister claims he had laid cement roads in villages, provided LED bulbs and giving 24×7 power supply, constructed houses and toilets, increased pensions to the people. All these are possible with the Central government funds. There is nothing that Chief Minister did all these with the State funds alone,” BJP leaders claimed blaming the TDP chief of misleading people.
BJP’s Vishnukumar Raju in Visakhapatnam, MP Gokaraju Gangaraju in Vijayawada, MLCs Somu Veerraju and Madhav in Tirupati lashed out at Chandrababu Naidu for presenting morphed video clips of Narendra Modi’s election meeting on April 30, 2014.
While Chandrababu Naidu named his public meeting as “Nammaka Droham, Kutra Rajakiyalu Pai Dharma Poratam’ (righteous struggle against politics of betrayal and conspiracy) the BJP called it “Dharmam Pai Poratam – Adhikaram Kosam Aaratam (Fight against justice and urge for power).
The PM had not spoken over the issue of SCS in Tirupati. He made a reference to the issue at his Nellore meeting. Even there, he did not mention SCS. He said ‘special status ka package’,” MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju claimed in Visakhapatnam, and released a video to the media with original and ‘morphed’ clippings.
Raju clarified that no party that comes to power at the Centre would be able to accord SCS to Andhra Pradesh and advised the parties seeking SCS to stop cheating people. The BJP leaders alleged that the Chief Minister is taking up deekshas for political gains. “The ‘Dharma Porata Deeksha’ by Naidu appears to be ‘Dharmam pai Poratam’ (fight against justice), but not against ‘adharmam’ (injustice).
Even PM Modi had observed a day’s protest. But, he did not spend a single rupee on it. However, Naidu had spent Rs 30 crore on a day-long hunger strike for which he used the entire government’s machinery,” MP Gokaraju Ganga Raju said in Vijayawada.
In Tirupati, MLCs Somu Veerraju and PNV Madhav lashed out at Naidu saying that the TDP chief had severed ties with the BJP only after the Centre started asking for accounts of the funds spent on the Polavaram project. They also alleged that the TDP had colluded with other parties to project BJP as a villain in the State.
