Last month when Mahesh Babu’s ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ was released the producer advertised it as a blockbuster promise. But actually this film has not become a blockbuster. With collections not at par to be called a block-buster, this film appears to be eliminating from box-office race.
Overall, if this film is to break-even it should clock Rs.100 crore. However, in two weeks it earned only Rs.88 crore. If ‘Na Peru Surya’ released last week had a positive talk about it, this film could have confined to Rs.90 crore. However, with ‘Na Peru Surya’ getting divide talk, this film gained substantially.
Mahesh’s last two films were disasters but theatrical rights of this film were sold for Rs.100 crore. In fact, for a Mahesh film it is not difficult to collect Rs.100 crore. However, since the movie lacked such content, it did not meet the expectations. According to estimates by trade circles, the film in its full run may confine to Rs.95 crore. That means Rs.5 crore loss is inevitable. Even overseas the movie is not safe from losses. For break-even, the film has to record collections of 3.6 million dollars. However, till now it earned 3.35 million dollars. ‘Rangasthalam’ which was released before this movie has crossed 3.5 million mark. However, Bharat may not break the records of Chitti Babu.
