Galla Jaydev finds BJP ok without Modi-Shah

Telugu Desam Party MP from Guntur, Galla Jaydev, found majority of the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders good. He has all praises for senior leader and external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, but not Prime Minister Narendra Modi or BJP president Amit Shah.

He made these comments the other day in Guntur at the inauguration of the passport seva Kendra. He said Sushma Swaraj had more concern for Andhra Pradesh development and had responded positively every time she was approached. “She is very good leader and has concern for the State. But, only Modi and Shah are not for the development of the State,” he had said.

Like Jaydev, there are several senior leaders of the TDP, including its chief Chandrababu Naidu, who find BJP a good friend. They want senior leaders like Nitin Gadkari to take over the leadership keeping Modi and Shah away. Chandrababu Naidu has greater relationship with senior leaders like L K Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi and others but not Modi and Shah.

It is like Chandrababu Naidu is lobbying for the candidature of Nitin Gadkari as the Prime Minister for the next term and if that happens he would once again align with the BJP. Chandrababu Naidu had made up his mind to support Gadkari and that was what he had conveyed when he visited Gadkari in Pune some months ago.

There are other leaders in the TDP, mostly the sitting MPs, who are in favour of the BJP, but not Modi and Shah. They all wish that either Nitin Gadkari or Rajnath Singh should be projected as the next Prime Minister candidates and not Modi. But the issue is not in their hands. It is for the BJP and the RSS which have a word on the next Prime Minister candidate.

Interestingly, even the Shiv Sena is also against Modi and Shah but not against the BJP. The Siromani Akali Dal too wants change in the leadership of the BJP. It is too interesting in pulling out of the NDA in the next elections if the leadership is not changed or at least Modi is not dropped for the next term.
