Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had started his Nava Nirmana Deeksha in Vijayawada this morning. He made it a State function and will continue for one week, to end in Nellore on June 8.
He made people to take pledge to develop the State against all odds as the top state in the country by 2029. The State would be the world’s best State by 2050 is his vision. He also promised corruption-free government. He made people present at the Vijayawada meet to raise their voice for special category status. Though he had compromised with the BJP in denying the special category status two years ago, he is now raising his voice for the same and claiming that people want it as their right. He claims that the BJP had betrayed the people by going back on the promise which was made in the presence of Lord Venkateswara in Tirupati. But, never refers to his own statements against the special category status a year ago.
Chandrababu Naidu had been holding this Nava Nirmana Deeksha since 2015 in protest against the bifurcation, skipping the celebration of State formation day. He used the first three years, 2015 to 2017, to criticise the Congress for bifurcation. But this year, he included the BJP too in the list making it a completely political and Telugu Desam event, where the government is involved and senior bureaucrats are present.
Having aligned with the BJP for four years and pulled out from the alliance a few months ago, Chandrababu Naidu had tied-up his critics, the Opposition YSR Congress and Jana Sena, with the BJP.
