Surprisingly, the AP Planning Board vice-chairman C Kutumba Rao, is slowly turning into a fulltime politician these days. Holding a nominated position in the government, he is seen as more loyal to the ruling Telugu Desam Party than the party chief himself.
As Planning Board vice-chairman Kutumba Rao is welcome to give the account of the flow of funds from the Central government to the State in the last four years. But, he is going beyond that. He is making scating attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and the YSR Congress for criticism. He is targeting BJP MP G V L Narasimha Rao, who is scaling new heights these days in the party hitting hard at the TDP in the State after the break-up of alliance. Narasimha Rao is found hitting the TDP hard with some statistical background.
It is here Kutumba Rao had entered the scene as the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu does not come down from targeting the Prime Minister to the level of countering an MP. Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu thinks he is too big to respond to the BJP MP’s comments. Ironically, there is no other leader in the TDP to counter the rivals, at least Narasimha Rao, with some economics and statistics coupled with political strategy. All that the TDP now has is the leaders who can talk physics and chemistry or come up with loud mouth and not economics.
Having noticed the gab, the TDP chief had pushed the planning board vice-chairman to play political role too. Perhaps this is the reason why Kutumba Rao is playing a politician role on behalf of the TDP and is calling the critics by name. He termed the BJP MP Narasimha Rao as a hit and run man, and the YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Rao as a psycho. For a person holding a nominated post in the government to make such political comments is uncalled for. But, it looks like he is more loyal to the party than his position.
