The Opposition YSR Congress and the Congress released charge-sheet against the Telugu Desam Party government, as it completed four years in office on Friday. The two parties have, in their separate charge-sheets, equally blamed the TDP and Chandrababu Naidu on the special category status, the core issue of the State after the bifurcation.
While the YSR Congress said that the Chandrbaabu Naidu government had taken the State backward by 15 years by compromising with the BJP leadership in on the Special Category Status to the State, the Congress accused the TDP chief of betraying people. The YSR Congress also hit the TDP hard on the Capital Amaravati construction and accused the government of wasting funds and time. The YSR Congress said that the TDP government had failed to utilize the money given by the Central government for the Amaravati. “When Rs 1500 crore were given to the State, not a single permanent building is constructed for the capital. The TDP neither used the resources available in the common capital (Hyderabad) nor created new resources in the new capital (Amaravati),” the YSR Congress said in its charge-sheet.
The Congress sought to blame the TDP government on its failure to implement the key promises of Chandrababu Naidu which included loan waiver to the farmers, jobs to every family and unemployment stipend to the youth. On the farmers’ loan waiver, the Congress said that Chandrababu Naidu had betrayed the farming community by paying just Rs 14,000 crore towards debt relief, while the total debt of the farmers was around Rs 84,000 crore. Even on the employment opportunities promised to the people, the Congress said that Chandrababu Naidu had secured job for his son leaving thousands of youth unemployed.
Even on the unemployment stipend that was promised to the youth by the TDP, the Congress hit the ruling party hard for not implementing the scheme even in the fourth year.
However, the ruling TDP discounted the two charge-sheets saying that they were politically motivated and full of lies. TDP AP unit president K Kalavenkata Rao said that both the Congress and the YSR Congress have, as usual, leveled false charges against the TDP, which, according to him, had fulfilled all the promises it had made in the last elections.
