Pawan’s warning is good for the State

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan had cautioned the rulers of separatist movement in the State. He made this comment after his meeting with the intellectuals of Uttarandhra – the three districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam.

The region is backward and there is no doubt about it. Same is the case with the Rayalaseema region. Interestingly, Pawan Kalyan had made similar remarks when he visited Rayalaseema earlier. There is unrest among the people of Uttarandhra and Rayalaseema and they strongly believe that the regions are neglected.

There was similar feeling in the Telangana region in the combined Andhra Pradesh. The people of Telangana felt that they are neglected by the successive rulers. They saw the domination of one particular caste and the movement thus took the new shape for separate Statehood to the region.

Now, after bifurcation, the feeling is slowly building up against the same caste, which is believed to have exploited the Telangana region. People of Uttarandhra and Rayalaseema believe that development is taking place only in Krishna and Guntur districts where this particular caste is present predominantly. After bifurcation, people are of the opinion that this caste is getting every benefit.

Shockingly, Minister for Water Resources, Devineni Umamaheswsara Rao claimed that Gollapudi area on the outskirts of Vijayawada would be another Kukatpalli (Hyderabad) of Amaravati in a few years from now. Again, the same caste that prompted the people or leaders of Telangana to fight for statehood, are making the same mistakes here by trying to replicate Kukatpalli in Amaravati.

When Pawan Kalyan made this statement, it is not just his statement. It is the statement of several intellectuals and normal people who feel the suffocation with the domination of this particular caste. If this is not contained now, there would be statehood agitations in Uttarandhra and Rayalaseema regions too.

It is high time that the leaders from this particular caste should correct themselves or else the State would see more separatist movements. While it is good to have more states for Telugus, the reason for such a split is not healthy.
