Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan appears to be capturing the backward Uttarandhra region to begin his electoral politics. He is giving more thoughts and time into the region as he builds up his party for the next round of elections. His political activity – Praja Porata Yatra – started from Srikakulam and is now in Visakhapatnam. A few more days or weeks left for him to conclude his tour in the three districts of north coastal region.
His focus on the region and its backwardness indicates that Pawan Kalyan is targeting at the 35 Assembly seats in the three districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam. These backward districts are finding a new leader in him and there is huge gathering wherever he addressed the public meetings these days.
Pawan Kalyan had won the hearts of the people of this region by raising his voice for the unfortunate victims of the mysterious kidney disease in Uddanam area of Srikakulam district. The State and the Central governments acted swiftly and established dialysis centers in the area, created protected drinking water schemes and increased pension amount for the kidney patients. These developments, which were denied to them for decades, are seen as the result of Pawan Kalyan’s intervention.
Having won this round, he is now focusing more on the backwardness of the region targeting at the ruling Telugu Desam Party and the Opposition YSR Congress. He is leaving no opportunity to represent the issues of the region and at the same time hit hard at the TDP. He is visibly hard at his attack on the TDP and shows concern for the development of the region.
His meeting with the intellectuals of the region had earned him some recognition in the region and his frequent interactions with important non-political leaders of the region are also going well deep into the people. He is, to some extent, is seen as the man committed for the development of the Uttarandhra region.
It is to be seen how his efforts would fetch him votes in the next elections.
