‘Happy Wedding’ unimpressive but still happy

Last Saturday, ‘Happy Wedding’ based on family story and with mega daughter Niharika craze was released. ‘Happy Wedding’ talk and collections show that Niharika has no craze and all the interest was only because her being mega daughter. Made with a low budget, this film is based on a family story but it failed to impress the family audience. Except Niharika’s acting, cinematography and few dialogues, the film has nothing to impress. Another minus for the film is hero being not popular.

Produced with just Rs.3 crore budget, the film has the capacity to recover this money during this week. Along with ‘Happy Wedding’ another film ‘Saakshyam’ was also released but it is also being described as average movie. This has come as some respite for ‘Happy Wedding’. However, producers which spent Rs.2.5 crore on making the film, spent another Rs.50 lakh on publicity. That means the film came before the audience with Rs.3 crore budget. There are reports that it has done theatrical business of Rs.1 crore while digital and satellite rights have fetched Rs.3 crore.

While these figures are exciting, producers that is UV banner has no complaints. Since the film was taken up by UV Creations, the film got this price for digital and satellite rights. Otherwise this film would not have recovered even the investment. Whatever it may be, Niharika had the bad luck. Poor girl, none of her films are doing well.
