Jana Sena ties-up with CPM in Telangana too

Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena had agreed to work with the CPM in the Telangana State. The party had already aligned with the Let parties in Andhra Pradesh, while the alliance is worked out in Telangana only the other day.

The Jana Sena and the CPM leaders held the initial talks in Hyderabad where they struck the alliance in principle. Jana Sena leaders Thota Chandrasekhar and Madasu Gangadharam, besides others had talks with CPM’s Telangana secretary Thammineni Veerabhadram, Narasimhulu and others. Talks were held between the leaders of the two parties to work together in the State.

The two parties have in principle agreed to work together on issues concerning the people. The CPM is already working to build a Dalit-Bahujan-Left alliance in the State to face the ruling Telangana Rastra Samithi and the Opposition Congress. Now, the Jana Sena’s entry into the front had strengthened the non-TRS and non-Congress forces in the State.

The Jana Sena is already working with the Left parties in Andhra Pradesh. The CPI, CPM and Jana Sena have common understanding in the State and have been working on issues for almost one year. The Left parties have also agreed to name Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan as their chief minister candidate and an announcement to this effect is likely once the poll schedule is released.

Though it is not a force in Telangana like in the case of Andhra Pradesh, the Jana Sena would be playing a small brother role here with the Left parties, particularly the CPM, playing the big brother role. It is expected that the Jana Sena would have some votes in the twin cities, besides Khammam and Suryapet districts where the Kapu and settlers are considerably strong.

The CPM wants to make use of the presence of these voters when the State goes for the elections, whether advanced to December this year or as per original schedule in May next year.
