The Congress leaders in Telangana are getting ready for the elections. Though not at the speed at which the ruling Telangana Rastra Samithi is moving, the Congress leaders are getting on to the track for the race.
The T Congress leaders have prepared a list of 40 candidates for the Assembly and have gone to the AICC headquarters in Delhi. The list is likely to be given to AICC president Rahul Gandhi who is likely to release it.
Rahul Gandhi met Congress leaders this morning. He also admitted Telugu producer Bandla Ganesh into the party. The actor-turned-producer will be contesting from the Shadnagar constituency on Congress ticket. Rahul Gandhi also admitted TRS MLC from Nizamabad Bhupathi Reddy.Mr Reddy is expecting a ticket from Nizamabad Rural assembly constituency.
The AICC president is set to release the party candidates list after his meeting with the party leaders, including TPCC president N Uttamkumar Reddy. The Congress is firm on wresting power and had started working for tie-up with other parties including Telugu Desam Party in the State. Talks are also being held with Telangana Jana Samithi of Prof. Kodandaram, besides the Left parties.
The CPI had already tied-up with Jana Sena, while the CPM is looking forward to an alliance with the Congress. The leaders are busy planning counter campaign against the TRS which is ahead of every other party in the State.
While chief minister Chandrasekhar Rao is on relaxing mode these days, his son KTR is moving at a greater speed to stay ahead of others. He is hitting hard at the Congress-TDP alliance which might turn in his favour at the polls as people are not ready to accept this alliance.
