Senior leader from Telangana, who was considered as winning partner to late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, is all set to quit the ruling Telangana Rastra Samithi and return to his home. This might happen in the next couple of weeks, though has been pending for a few months. He is said to be not so happy with the TRS, though the party had made him the Rajya Sabha member.
He is not happy with the TRS, particularly with its MP Kavitha, who, besides others, have accused him of indulging in anti-party activities in Nizamabad, which is represented by KCR’s daughter Kavitha.
Kavitha had gone to the extent of seeking the TRS chief and her father Chandrasekhar Rao to take action against Srinivas and her statements against Srinivas were no secret. The differences between the two leaders – Srinivas and Kavitha – have come to the fore causing inconvenience to the TRS leadership. The party is now waiting for Srinivas to make his moves first and as it appears, is not ready to take any action as suggested by Kavitha.
Srinivas too seems not in a hurry to take a call, but wants the party leadership to act against him, as desired by Kavitha. However, the Congress is putting pressures on Srinivas to come back as the State is witnessing election heat.
There is also pressure from the Bharatiya Janata Party on Srinivas as his one of two sons is already with the BJP. However, Srinivas is yet to take a call on his move.
The Congress leaders claim that the party and Gandhi Bhavan are the second home for Srinivas who was the APCC president twice, before the bifurcation and had spent most of his time in Gandhi Bhavan as its head. Going back to Congress would be a home coming for him and would sharpen the party’s electoral prospects in Nizamabad.
