The Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax officials are busy searching the house of Congress leader Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad and other places. They are, in 15 teams, searching the houses and offices of Revanth Reddy’s friends and associates too. It is more than 43 hours that the search was launched and is said to be, positively, completed by Saturday noon.
The officials have questioned Revanth Reddy for 31 hours and have taken his written replies for 150 questions. As of now, it is said that the officials have asked Revanth Reddy to attend for another round of questioning at the IT office in Hyderabad on October 3.
There is no clarity on what these searches have unearthed from Revanth and his friends. There are only speculations about the findings and no official information. There is also a speculation that the searches would end with the officials arresting Revanth Reddy on Saturday afternoon. This arrest would certainly precede some protests by the Congress activists and the supporters of this firebrand leader.
But, the big question haunting the people of the two Telugu States is where will these searches end? Will they end with Revanth Reddy or will they go along the names that are found in the documents and during questioning of the Congress leader? Will these searches also spread their wings to the cases like the Note for Vote in which Revanth was arrested and jailed earlier?
These are the big questions that the people of the two Telugu States are engaged in and posing to each other. There is curiosity among the people across the two Telugu States as the raids and Revanth are connected to both the States.
While the TDP leaders in Andhra Pradesh and the Congress leaders in Telangana see Modi’s witch-hunt in the search, it is said to be a long awaited from the time of the Note for Vote case way back in 2015. It was because of this case that Chandrababu Naidu had shifted his government to Vijayawada to avoid further clash with the TRS government in Hyderabad.
