KCR is knocking at the doors of BC, SC leaders

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is now knocking at the doors of the BC and SC leaders, besides others as the polls are fast approaching him. It looks like the Congress is scaring him more with its grand alliance efforts along with the Telugu Desam Party. The Congress had forged the alliance with the CPI and the Telugu Desam Party in the State posing a greater threat to the ruling Telangana Rastra Samithi. The Telangana Jana Samithi chief Prof. Kodandaram too is likely to go with the Congress-led front in the State.

The unity efforts of the Congress seems to have become scary for the ruling TRS. The party leaders and minsters K Tarakarama Rao and T Harish Rao are now trying to build some relations with the BC leader R Krishnaiah, SC leader Manda Krishna Madiga and the revolutionary leader Gaddar to have a third front in the State. The TRS leaders have prepared a plan for these three leaders – plan one to align with the TRS and plan two to be a separate third group with Krishnaiah as the Chief Minister candidate.

If this unity efforts work, it would be advantage TRS as the third front would split the anti-government votes giving less advantage for the Congress to wrest power from TRS. If these forces align with the TRS, then it would be easy for KCR to retain power.

The latest moves from the TRS camps to have talks with these three leaders show how strong is the Congress in the State. Interestingly, the Congress had improved its position particularly after it started staking claims for creation of Telangana State in 2014. The Congress leaders are now claiming the credit for statehood to Telangana and this claim is going well with the people across.

This slogan or claim is giving tough time for TRS and its chief KCR to counter the Opposition. If Krishnaiah, Krishna Madiga and Gaddar fall in the TRS trap, it would be safe for the TRS to win the polls. Otherwise, KCR would have tough time to retain the power.
