Will Naidu share dais with Rahul Gandhi?

There is a big question doing rounds in the two Telugu States for the past 24 hours. The question is will AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu share the dais with AICC president Rahul Gandhi? Though Chandrababu Naidu had shared the dais with the Congress chief earlier, it was not in the Telugu States. He, besides others, were seen on the same dais at Bengaluru when Kumaraswamy took oath as Karnataka Chief Minister. That was a big victory for the Congress and the non-BJP forces as the BJP was prevented from coming to power.

Now, the Congress leaders from Telangana are planning it big to have at least one meeting where Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Telugu Desam Party president Chandrababu Naidu address a joint election meeting. This is also being planned for Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad, where the TDP has some presence with the settlers still rallying for the party.

The Telangana Congress, which is going for polls in alliance with the TDP is planning for at least half a dozen public meetings of Rahul Gandhi during the season. The Congress leaders are preparing the list where Rahul Gandhi should address and the list, as of now, included Kama Reddy, Bodh, Karimnagar and Warangal, besides Hyderabad. Though the Congress leaders want Rahul Gandhi to be present in more towns the AICC chief is not ready for the same as he has four northern States to cover in the election season.

The Congress in Telangana, which is riding on the hopes of coming back to power with the support of the TDP and Prof. Kodandaram, is also looking at the advantage of having both Rahul Gandhi and Chandrababu Naidu sharing the dais and addressing the election meeting in Hyderabad. The leaders believe that this meeting would send some positive signals among the TDP ranks in Telangana to back the Congress.

Will this meeting become a reality is the big question to be answered. If Naidu shares the dais with Rahul in Telangana, it is to be seen how the people of AP react to it.
