Tollywood debate on clubs

These days, there is a new trend in Tollywood. Within a week of the release of big movies, posters are appearing that they have entered Rs.100 crore club or Rs.200 crore club. Tollywood producers who are releasing such posters are not thinking anything before doing it. Can we believe all this..? How far these 100 crore clubs are true..? Recently, makers of three successive Telugu movies created a flutter with posters claiming that they entered Rs.100 crore club. One may agree with 100 crore club but they are even claiming Rs.200 crore club. In the beginning of this year Ram Charan’s ‘Rangasthalam’ was released but the filmmaker did not immediately release the posters claiming that it entered Rs.100 crore of Rs.200 crore club. They waited and after they were sure about the film’s success, they came out with posters. That’s why once can’t criticize them.

Is this only for publicity?

Subsequently, Mahesh’s ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ was released. Danayya and team created a buzz with posters of Rs.100 crore and Rs.200 crore club. That’s why these posters have come under huge criticism. Now within three days of the release of NTR’s ‘Aravinda Sametha’ posters have appeared that it entered Rs.100 crore club. A debate is currently raging on social media as to whether these figures are true. The filmmakers are claiming that films have recorded this much collection but they are not revealing about how much the producers have earned and how much money has come to distributors. There is another objective behind these posters. Some analysts say by releasing such posters they want to attract audiences to theatres to watch their movies.
