Trailer of ‘2.0’, made in the combination of superstar Rajinikanth and Shankar was launched at a grand and colourful event held in Chennai. Eminent personalities attended this function. ‘2.0’ trailer is entirely a web of graphics. Shankar’s direction is highlight of the movie but visual effects appear to have challenged the direction. In the past there have been reports that Rs.400 to Rs.450 crore were spent on the making of this film. However, the producers said to have invested as much as Rs.600 crore in this project.

This was announced at ‘2.0’ trailer launch event by Lyca Productions officials and Rajinikanth. Lyca officials said they may make any investment but it is the director who is more important. They lauded Shankar’s direction. Rajinikanth said that initially the budget estimate for ‘2.0’ was Rs.450 crore but it went up to Rs.500 crore. Visual effects were stopped in the middle and resumed later. This increased the cost to Rs.550 crore. Finally it went up to Rs.600 crore. He thus gave the clarity on how this movie had such a huge budget. Trailer proves that with Rs.600 crore budget, Shankar has made a good movie. How many sensations ‘2.0’ will create, how many new records it will set and how much will be its collections. For answers to all these, we have to wait by the month-end.
