Kanna faults Naidu for Congress tie-up

Bharatiya Janata Party State president and former minister Kanna Lakshminarayana took strong exception to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu aligning with the Congress. He termed the Telugu Desam Party’s alliance with the Congress as an act of fear of losing power.

“Chandrababu Naidu is worried about losing his power. He is also worried about the increasing popular support for YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy in the State. It is because of this fear, Chandrababu Naidu had joined hands with the Congress,” the BJP state president said.

The BJP chief said that Chandrababu Naidu had never gone for elections without alliance. The TDP chief had aligned with the BJP, TRS, CPI, CPM and Jana Sena since 1998. “He (Chandrababu Naidu) had covered all political parties. Only Congress is left out and this time he is aligning with the Congress,” Kanna Lakshminarayana said.

He blamed the TDP for the alignment with the Congress against which the TDP was found by late N T Rama Rao. The BJP leader also alleged that Chandrababu Naidu is worried about the cases pending against him and the possible revelation of corruption. “The Narendra Modi government is not leaving any corrupt leader in the country. The investigating agencies are conducting raids on the corrupt leaders. Chandrababu Naidu being the highly corrupt is now worried about these raids. It is for this reason, to escape the raids, the TDP chief had joined hands with Rahul Gandhi,” Kanna Lakshminarayana said.

The BJP leader appealed to the TDP leaders across the State to question Chandrababu Naidu on the alliance with the Congress. He predicted a vertical split in the TDP a few months later only because of the party’s alliance with the Congress. The TDP will soon disappear from the State politics as majority of the leaders are ready to quit. He predicted that only Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh would remain in the TDP by the time of the next general elections scheduled in 2019.
