YSRCP to meet President Ramnath Kovind

A delegation of the YSR Congress Party is scheduled to meet President Ramanth Kovind in Rastrapathi Bhavan on November 9. The delegation would include the party former MPs and senior leaders. The delegation would submit a representation to the President seeking a third party probe into the attack on Jaganmohan Reddy at Visakhapatnam airport on October 25.

The YSR Congress had rejected the State government enquiry into the attack as Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and DGP R P Thakur have made political statements even before a preliminary enquiry into the incident was conducted. The two have seen attacker Srinivasa Rao as a follower of the YSR Congress and termed the attack as conspiracy against the government.

Based on these statements, the YSR Congress said that they have no confidence on the probe ordered by the State government as the State police head himself made political comments against the YSR Congress. “When the Chief Minister and the DGP have their own versions for the attack, no police would dare to take another and different line to find out the facts,” YSR Congress former MP Mithun Reddy said.

The YSR Congress wants the probe to be run on a few points. The issues like how attacker Srinivasa Rao got the job in airport canteen and who issued him the no objection certificate from the police to get the job. How did Srinivasa Rao managed to carry the knife into the airport and why the canteen owner is not questioned.

There are also questions on Srinivasa Rao’s bank accounts and his movements in the airport canteen. The credentials of the letter to claimed to have been written by the attacker also raises doubts as the YSR Congress found different hand writing on the papers.

These issues are to be probed as the YSR Congress wants so. The party delegation would list all these issues, raise doubts over the present investigation into the case and seek Central probe. The YSR Congress wants a third party probe into the case which cannot be influenced by the State government or the State police.
