KTR dares to quit politics

Telangana Rastra Samithi leader and Minister for IT, K Taraka Ramarao, dared to quit active politics if defeated in the December 7 elections to the State Assembly. He asked the Congress-led Opposition to take the challenge.

KTR, who participated in the Meet-the-Press organised in Hyderabad, reiterated that the TRS victory is just a matter of time. He said that the TRS would win with greater number than what it had won in the 2014 elections. He discounted the claims of the Congress-led Opposition combine and said that the Congress and Prof. Kodamdaram’s Telangana Jana Samithi were at the mercy of Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu.

The TRS leader, second in command after KCR, said that people in Telangana were not ready to accept Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership here. The Congress is banking on the TDP and Chandrababu Naidu, he said and claimed that the surrender of Congress to Naidu is not acceptable. This would be proved on December 7 when the people turn up at the polling booths, he said.

KTR further said that the TRS would focus on the federal front at the national level only after the State Assembly elections. He claimed that KCR would play greater role in the national politics once he settled down in the government after the polls. He further claimed that the alliance of Congress and TDP was also not acceptable and would not give positive results for the combine.

He refused to answer questions on corruption in the State during the last four years and said that people are ready to give their verdict. He justified the TRS decision to dissolve the State Assembly ahead of the schedule and said that people were welcoming it.

He reiterated that the December 7 elections would prove everyone wrong as the TRS is set to win with big majority and would have a comfortable government. He further claimed that the Congress-led Maha Kutami would have a humiliating defeat in the elections.
