YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy had finally spoke to the people for the first time after an attack on his life at Visakhapatnam airport on October 25. He addressed a public meeting at Parvathipuram in Vizianagaram district on Saturday evening – a much awaited speech.
Jaganmohan Reddy remained silent since the attack and no one knew what he has in his mind about the incident except hearing it from his party leaders and his representations given to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and President Ramnath Kovind. His case in the High Court too gave some hints about his thoughts on the attack, but it was all speculation.
The words have finally come out at Parvathipuram. He named Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu as conspirator and prime accused in the case. He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu wanted to eliminate him because of his growing popularity among the people ahead of the elections.
“They employed the accused in the airport canteen owned by a TDP leader. Then they switched off the CCTV cameras to avoid video footage of the attack. They have planned it in March this year,” Jaganmohan Reddy said. He further said that the TDP leaders wanted to kill him in the airport and shift the blame on the Central government. “They have created a fake theory of Operation Garuda much ahead of the incident and then they planned and executed it to justify the garuda theory,” Jaganmohan Reddy said.
He also found fault with the government and the police for creating a 10-page letter allegedly written by the attacker, which was not there when the incident occurred. Even the letter has two to three different handwritings and that shows how they cooked up the story, he said.
Jaganmohan Reddy raised the questions that are already in circulation in the social media and are widely posed to the ruling Telugu Desam Party. It is now the turn of the TDP leadership, particularly Chandrababu Naidu to answer these questions and justify his claims of a conspiracy by the YSR Congress and BJP against him.
