Former minister and Telugu Desam Party legislator Ravela Kishore Babu had quit the TDP and joins Jana Sena Party.
Kishore Babu had also submitted his resignation as MLA and to the primary membership of the TDP. He had reportedly sent his resignation to the office of the Assembly Speaker at Velagapudi and the TDP office at Guntur. He had been upset with the TDP from the time when he was dropped from the Cabinet last year.
The Chandrababu Naidu government had dropped two SC ministers, Kishore Babu and Peethala Sujatha, and inducted two more – K S Jawahar and Nakka Ashok Babu. The TDP had not rehabilitated either of these SC ministers but had given top slots to another minister Palle Raghunadha Reddy who was stripped from his Cabinet post and made government chief whip. Another one, Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, however, was kept aside considering his age and health.
Kishore Babu, on his removal was upset with the leadership and had been trying to quit the party. Some of his close friends say that he had tried to meet Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati and take over the BSP in the State. However, it did not work for him as Chandrababu Naidu had better relationship with Mayawati than Kishore Babu.
It is also widely said that Kishore Babu had approached the YSR Congress but wanted the party to give him guarantee on his Assembly ticket. Jaganmohan Reddy had refused to consider his request, which had forced Kishore Babu to quit TDP and join the Jana Sena. He is now asking for either Prathipadu or Vemuru Assembly seats, both in Guntur district.
It is said that the Jana Sena chief had offered him the Prathipadu seat, where he won in 2014 on the Telugu Desam Party ticket.
