Telugu Desam Party supremo and AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had displayed his command and control over his ally – the Congress. As he landed in Hyderabad, he had a fleet of top Congress leaders visiting him at his house to discuss the electoral strategy.
The Congress leaders like Karnataka’s Minister, D K Sivakumar, Telangana Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and others have visited Chandrababu Naidu. They spent a couple of hours in Naidu’s house discussing the poll strategy that has to be followed for the next five days. These five days are crucial for the parties to win the voters.
There are three days to campaign, one day of silence and one day of voting. These five days are serious for any party and any candidate to win the voters. The rivals make their last bid to woo the voters using different techniques including the influence of money. The final day of voting too is important as the parties and the candidates would have to bring the voters to the polling booths on priority.
It is here Chandrababu Naidu is known for his strategies and the Congress leaders have come to listen to him. Karnataka’s Congress leader Sivakumar, who is closely monitoring the party’s campaign, and who is known as trouble shooter for the party, besides being a successful strategist, too had to sit before Chandrababu Naidu and take notes for couple of hours.
Though the two other partners – Telangana Jana Samithi of Prof. Kodandaram and CPI – were absent in this political class, the surrender of Congress to Naidu shows the command that he has over the allies. As already alleged by the ruling Telangana Rastra Samithi that Chandrababu Naidu would have control over the Telangana if the Congress-TDP alliance is voted to power, their cautions have come true even before the elections.
