On the polling day in Telangana, celebrities made a beeline to the polling booths. They cast their votes and appealed to all voters to come out and exercise their franchise. Thus they tried to create awareness. Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu and NTR all along with their wives came to polling stations, stood in queues and cast their votes. Allu Arjun, Jagapathi Babu, Rana, Laxmi Manchu, Keeravani family, Nithin, Ram, Rajamouli family and others cast their votes. There were reports on channels, social and web media that director Raghavendra Rao also came to a polling booth to cast his vote. He did not stand in queue and was entering the booth when those standing in queue raised an objection. Raghavendra Rao considered this as an insult to him and returned without casting his vote. It was reported that when elderly persons like Vijay Nirmala and Krishna stood in queue to cast their votes, Raghavendra Rao did not follow the queue.
I have voted
However, Raghavendra Rao said the reports about him are false. Some channels reported that I did not stand in queue and went into the booth. This is not correct. When I went to vote there was a long queue. Since it would have taken a long time and I had some urgent work, I returned from booth. Nobody standing in queue raised an objection. I am a responsible person. I am not a kind of man who breaks the queue. See I have cast my vote. See it for yourself. Before telecasting reports on channels, please contact me, this is how the director voiced his strong feelings.
