Nandamuri Balakrishna launched NTR biopic amid much fanfare under the direction of Teja. After the shooting for few days under the first schedule, Teja unexpectedly walked out. With Teja’s exit NTR biopic was surrounded by doubts. However, after Teja’s exit, the project went into the hands of Krish. Teja’s exit and Krish’s entry triggered all sorts of speculations in the media. It was said that Teja was scared by Balayya’s attitude. Unable to do NTR biopic with Balakrishna, Teja threw his hands up. Subsequently, director Krish smoothly made NTR biopic.
In the latest development, while giving media interviews in connection with the release of NTR biopic ‘Kathanaikudu’, Balakrishna spoke about the reasons for Teja walking out of NTR biopic and Krish coming in his place. He said after beginning the shooting of NTR biopic, Teja told him that he can’t carry on with this responsibility and decided to give up. Balayya said he went to Mumbai to convey this to Vidya Balan, who was playing the role of Basva Tarakam in this movie. When he was in Mumbai, Krish who was busy with the shooting of ‘Manikarnika’ came to meet him. On learning that Teja has walked out of NTR biopic, Krish on his own asked Balayya if he can direct NTR biopic. Within two minutes, Balayya picked him as the director of NTR biopic. Balakrishna recalled that after Teja said that he can’t direct the film, he thought of taking the responsibility of direction on himself but when Krish asked if he can direct, he decided to give him the responsibility as he had good knowledge of Telugu literature and he had read many biographies.
