It looks like Prime Minister Narendra Modi is firm on uniting the Opposition. The divided opposition is now coming together, rallying around Uttar Pradesh former chief minister and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.
The Congress was able to keep it’s allies in UPA intact. With Congress president Rahul Gandhi setting his eyes on the Prime Minister Office in the 2019 elections he is taking advantage of the alleged witch-hunt of Narendra Modi.
Rahul Gandhi had brought anti-Modi leaders together. Telugu Desam Party supremo and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu was one of the early birds to join anti-Modi team with Rahul Gandhi. There were leaders like Mamatha Benerji, Mayawati, Akhilesh Yadav, besides others who joined this team led by Rahul Gandhi.
However, for different reasons, these three leaders have walked out of Rahul’s team. But now Modi implicating cases against Akhilesh and using the infamous CBI against him, the opposition leaders are coming together now.
Rahul Gandhi, Mamatha Benerji, Mayawati, Arvind Kejriwal, Chandrababu Naidu and others have condemned the Modi government’s witch-hunt and are rallying together.
At a time people were talking about the division in the Opposition, Modi had brought them together.
