Telugu Desam Party chief and AP chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is getting the State coffers ready for his day-long protest in the national capital on February 11 against the Central government. The TDP chief is moving earth and heaven to sail with him on the day when he sits in protest. He had asked the government employees to come and his party leaders to be part of the protest. He had also sent invitations to the leaders of various organisations across the State to be present on the day as a mark of solidarity.
The government is making arrangements for the travel, food and stay for these employees, people, TDP leaders, besides the party MLAs, MLCs and chairpersons of various corporations. While the government sources say that an amount of Rs 1.10 crore was released from the State exchequer to meet the expenses for this protest, sources say that the protest is set to cost close to Rs 10 crore for the State government from various departments.
The State had already booked three trains – from Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati – to the national capital. These trains will have exclusively with the people of the State to join Chandrababu Naidu’s protest on the day. The State government is already making arrangements for accommodation of all these people travelling from the State to refresh after their long travel before attending the protest.
The State government is also making arrangements for travel of some VIPs, including the Minister by airlines and tickets are booked for them from Visakhapantma, Vijayawada, Tirupathi and Hyderabad airports. The State government departments were set targets to mobilise its employees and general public for the event. Some of the departments which are already mobilising people to visit Polavaram and Amaravati project sites are now busy making arrangements to move the people to the national capital.
Chandrababu Naidu had been holding this kind of events from the day one he assumed charge on June 8, 2014. He had spent huge amount for making arrangements for his swearing-in ceremony. Later he held event like Nava Nirmana Deeksha on June 2 every year to criticise the Congress for the bifurcation. Now, after his break-up with the BJP, he had been holding Dharma Porata Deekha across the State, in every district, to criticise the BJP for the denial of special category status, spending a few crore of rupees for every event.
Now, the protest in Delhi is likely to be the master event of Chandrababu Naidu in terms of expenditure for the state government
