Naidu wants continuation of his legacy

Telugu Desam Party supremo and chief minister Chandrababu Naidu renewed his appeal to the people to vote for continuation of his legacy to ensure the continuation of developmental initiatives. Naidu is taking the development agenda along with him while hitting back at his critics and mostly targeting the closest rival, the YSR Congress and its supremo Jaganmohan Reddy. As just a few hours left for the campaign to end and the leaders to go into silent mode, Chandrababu Naidu is raising his voice, exhibiting his concerns for the State and expressing his anger against the conspirators Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Telangana chief minister Chandrasekhar Rao and AP Opposition leader Jaganmohan Reddy. He went on record accusing the three leaders of joining hands to derail the development of the State.

The TDP chief wanted the people to keep in mind that their vote is for the State. “The vote for cycle is the vote for the State. It is the vote for the future of your children,” Chandrababu Naidu said trying to impress the voters. This election is very crucial for Chandrababu Naidu to crown his son and consolidate his position in the State politics. The succession of Nara Lokesh in the State politics is assured only if the TDP retains power in this election. If the TDP chief misses this now, he would have to wait for 2024 and this might be different for him and his son by then. Naidu does not want to give up this opportunity at any cost and had started the poll exercise as early as a year ago.

Naidu had been preparing the women, village revenue assistants, contract employees of the state for more than 15 months from now to work for the TDP. These sections were brought to the Chief Minister’s Office once in every month and Naidu used to address them at least for three years, making them to be his poll agents. He had prepared this ground work with the help of senior IPS officer, A B Venkateswara Rao, who is now kept out of the poll-related task. He also positioned SERP CEO Krishna Mohan, who handles the women groups in the State.

Keeping this mechanism in place, Naidu is going all out to retain his power. He is banking on the extensive campaign of the party NRI wing which is in action at the grassroots and the money that he had pumped in from the State exchequer in the first week of this month. However, it is to be seen if all this works for Naidu and help him cement his son, Nara Lokesh, future.
