Telugu Desam Party supremo and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is successful in presenting the failures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in fulfilling state bifurcation assurances, Telangana Chief Minister KCR’s efforts to stall the ongoing Polavaram project works and YSR Congress party president Jaganmohan Reddy’s efforts to create hurdles to development and welfare programmes in the state.
Addressing media persons at the last leg of election campaign, putting an end to his routine long speeches, the Chief Minister presented the development and welfare programmes carried out for the past five years through a video presentation. Sporting micro phone, the Chief Minister explained the welfare and development, Modi government’s non-cooperation and YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy’s hurdles to the development works. The Chief Minister looked in a different attire while explaining media the victories of state government and appealed to the voters to think wisely before voting. He said people should be cautious while choosing development and welfare oriented TDP government are Jaganmohan Reddy’s arson ridden path. The Chief Minister tried to impress media while giving presentation like a world class CEO of a corporate company.
It may be noted that the Chief Minister earlier covered 106 constituencies, addressing 98 public meetings and organising 38 road shows attracting e 25 lakh audience directly as part of his election campaign. The chief minister was joined by West Bengal chief minister Mamatha Benerji, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, Jammu and Kashmir former chief minister Farooq Abdullah and former prime minister H D Deve Gowda during the campaign.
The core issue that Chandrababu Naidu exposed during his hectic electioneering was the conspiracy theory against the TDP and the State of Andhra Pradesh. He projected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Telangana chief minister Chandrasekhar Rao and the YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy in a team against the TDP and AP. From these leaders being accused as a team against AP and TDP, Chandrababu Naidu concluded his campaign by calling Jaganmohan Reddy a slave to the BJP and TRS.
There are some surveys which have given 105 to 110 Assembly seats and 18 to 20 Parliament seats for TDP and Chandrababu Naidu closed his campaign with a confidence of victory from these surveys, dismissing the rest of the surveys.
