Fact Check: Nadda DID NOT write any letter to Rajgopal Reddy about meeting KCR
The letter further continues that if a proper explanation is not provided to the party leaders, he will be suspended from the BJP.
Hyderabad: Amid the political frenzy over Munugoda bypoll, a letter is viral on social media with the claim that it has been allegedly written by BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, addressed to former MLA of Telangana Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy questioning him on meeting Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao without informing his party leaders during the election.
The letter further continues that if a proper explanation is not provided to the party leaders, he will be suspended from the BJP.
Fact Check:
The claim that BJP national president Nadda had written a letter to Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy is FALSE.
We ran a reverse image search and found a Twitter post on the official page of BJP Telangana about a letter purportedly written by BJP Telangana President Bandi Sanjay to Nadda. The letter was similar to the viral letter. We found that Bandi Sanjay too posted the viral letter calling it fake.
On a closer look, we noticed that the letterhead of both letters is visibly different. Following are the differences:
Firstly, the text and the font of the letters are different. In the official letter (left), the party's name and address are mentioned in Hindi and English while the viral image (right) has text in English only.
The official letterhead has a lotus with a different border while the lotus in the viral image looks different from the original one.
There is no subject mentioned in the viral letter and the language and the style of writing are also different from the official one.
We also tried to find the signature of JP Nadda to check the authentication of the letter, but we couldn't find it.
We noticed the viral image is not a photo of an actual letter but a digital copy. As a result, JP Nadda's signature on the letter is also a digital one. So far, no political leader has shared a picture of an official letter from their party along with a digital signature.
Moreover, we couldn't find any news that Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy met KCR.
Hence, the viral letter by JP Nadda is fabricated and false.
