Fact Check: Actor Allu Arjun’s Shiv Mandir visit and declining Rs 10 crore offer from a famous liquor brand are not recent

A post making claims that Allu Arjun visited Shiv Mandir after the success of Pushpa 2: The Rule and the actor refused to endorse a liquor brand even though he was offered Rs. 10-crore for it;

Update: 2025-01-07 12:29 GMT

Tollywood actor Allu Arjun on Tuesday visited nine-year-old Sritej who is undergoing treatment at KIMS Hospital in Hyderabad. The boy was seriously injured while his mother Revathi died during a stampede at the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya theatre on December 4, 2024.

The actor had delayed his visit citing legal implications. Security personnel were deployed at the hospital ahead of the actor’s visit. Earlier, the Telangana State Film Development Corporation (TGFDC) Chairman Dil Raju handed over a compensation of Rs. 1 crore from Allu Arjun and Rs. 50 lakh from Mythri Movies and director Sukumar to the victim’s family.

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushup 2: The Rule collected Rs. 1,438 crore gross in India in 32 days while the global box office collections have crossed Rs. 1,810 crore. Pushpa 2 broke the highest-grossing record held by Prabhas’ blockbuster ‘Baahubali’ for 8 years and sprinting to beat another highest-grossing Indian film, Aamir Khan-starrer Dangal which earned over Rs. 2,000 crore worldwide.

Even as runaway hit Pushpa 2 continues to rake in more moolah, social media users are sharing an image of Allu Arjun and his wife Sneha Reddy with their two kids while claiming the actor visited Shiv Mandir following the success of his recent movie and also declined a Rs. 10 crore offer from a ‘famous liquor and pan brand’ as it wanted the makers to display their logo on the screen during a scene in which Pushpa 2 character Pushpa smokes or chews pan masala.

Claim in Hindi:

Fact Check:

During the investigation, the Telugupost fact check team found the claims that the actor along with his family visited a temple following the success of his Pushpa 2: The Rule movie and turned down a lucrative offer from a liquor brand are false.

The social media posts make two claims in the video: 1. Allu Arjun visits a Shiv temple along with his family after the success of Pushpa 2: The Rule, 2. Allu Arjun declines a Rs. 10 crore offer from a famous liquor brand.

Claim 1: Allu Arjun visits Shiv temple along with his family after the success of Pushpa 2

Recently, a video of Allu Arjun returning home after the Telangana High Court granted him an interim bail a day after his arrest in the Sandhya theatre stampede case had gone viral. In the video, the actor’s wife Sneha Reddy, son Allu Ayaan and daughter Allu Arha were seen hugging him as they welcome home.

So it is clear that the viral photo is not recent and the couple did not visit ‘Shiv Mandir’ after the success of Pushpa 2 movie. However, Allu Arjun attended a success meet on December 12, 2025 in New Delhi.

When we ran the viral image through Google Reverse Image tool, we found that the original photo was taken during the actor’s visit to Tirumala temple on February 6, 2017. The photo gallery of his visit can be seen on Sakshi Post here. We can see Allu Arjun carrying his son Ayaan while his wife Sneha Reddy is seen holding baby Arha and standing next to her father-in-law. Telugu media including NTV channel had widely covered the actor’s temple visit.

Claim 2: Allu Arjun declines a Rs. 10 crore offer from a famous liquor brand

As this claim had no separate photo, we conducted a Google Search using relevant keywords. The search threw up some results which contained news reports about the lucrative offer to the actor.

According to the Livemint article published on August 17, 2022, Allu Arjun declined Rs. 10 crore offer from a gutka and liquor brand. He had turned down a similar offer to advertise a pan masala brand.

Then again, a similar report appeared in the mainstream media in December 2023. The Times of India reported that the Pushpa actor was reportedly approached by a popular liquor brand which was seeking to promote their brand in the film. The brand team had suggested the makers show the lead character smoking, drinking or chewing with their logo visible during the film sequences on screen. The actor rejected the offer, even though the brand was willing to pay him Rs. 10 crore for it.

In the light of investigation and media reports, it was proved that the viral photo of Allu Arjun’s visit to the temple is old and is once again being shared with false claims. Similarly, the actor turned down the lucrative offer to promote liquor and pan masala in the past and it is being shared on social media as recent with misleading claims.
