Fact check:
The claim that the footage shows Nandamuri Balakrishna speaking in favour of the YSRCP and against the TDP-Jana Sena alliance is false. The video is edited.
Nandamuri Balakrishna, the son of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder NT Rama Rao, has served as Hindupur MLA after being elected in both 2014 and 2019.
After conducting a reverse image search of the screenshots from the video, we discovered the full extended version, which was uploaded by TV5 NEWS on their YouTube channel on March 4, 2024. According to the video description, it pertains to the election meeting of Telugu Desam-Janasena parties at Penugonda in Andhra Pradesh.
Upon reviewing the complete video, it becomes apparent that the scenes featured in the viral clip begin at timestamp 12:46 and conclude at timestamp 14:03. In fact, during this public meeting, Balakrishna stated, "Telugu Desam and Jana Sena together can be compared to a volcanic eruption that destroys the demon of anarchy in the state. The TDP-JS combine is like the Panchakalyani horse, symbolizing swift progress, which will lead the people to a welfare state and illuminate their lives.
We also found another video from Telugu Rajyam, a YouTube channel, which features the same footage as the previous one. In this video, Balakrishna makes similar comments criticising the YSRCP and appreciates the alliance between TDP and Jana Sena parties for envisioning welfare and development for Andhra Pradesh.
Balakrishna criticized the YSRCP while speaking at an election meeting of the TDP-JSP held at Penugonda on March 4, 2024. However, the viral video is digitally edited to make it appear as if Balakrishna spoke in favour of the YSRCP and against the TDP-Jana Sena alliance. Therefore, the claim made in the post is Misleading.
