Fact Check: Video showing Jai Congress sloganeering at KTR roadshow in Kodangal was digitally altered

A video showing Telangana minister K T Rama Rao campaigning in a rally is being shared on social media with the claim that the people in the constituency of Kodangal raised the slogans in support of Congress party and the Congress party President in Telangana – Revanth Reddy.
The caption on the viral posts goes as “Jai Congress, Jai Revanth Reddy slogans while KTR was speaking. Watch his reaction towards the end #KCRNeverAgain #ByeByeKCR”
Fact Check:
The claim is False. The video is altered with the audio of Jai Congress, and Jai Revanth Reddy slogans digitally added to the video.
When we searched using the keywords “KTR rally in Kodangal”, we found several videos on YouTube. Several Telugu news media channels have streamed KTR’s roadshow in Kodangal live.
Here is the NTV video that was published on November 9, 2023, with the title “Minister KTR Aggressive speech at Kodangal Roadshow I NTV”. We could find no such sloganeering in the video published.
The roadshow at Kodangal was conducted by BRS party leader KTR on November 9, 2023. A live video of the roadshow by KTR was published by T News Telugu with a feed of more than 7 hours. The viral part of the video can be seen at 13.13 minutes. We can hear no such slogans in the live stream.
According to TelanganaToday.com, BRS working president KT Rama Rao tore into TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy in the latter’s constituency of Kodangal on Thursday, listing out Reddy’s corrupt history and stating that the Congress leader, who was a real estate broker, would soon be heading to jail.
KT Rama Rao commented that Revanth Reddy, who was selling tickets to aspirants for contesting the elections, had the dubious distinction of damaging Kodangal’s reputation at the national level with his cash-for-vote scam.
Hence, the viral clip is edited as no pro-Congress slogans were raised during the roadshow. The claim is False.
