YSRC party which won 151 assembly seats in 2019, secured only 11 assembly seats in the 2024 elections. Several people began doubting the election held with the EVMs, as the campaigning of YSRCP witnessed huge crowds. The public was present in all the rallies conducted by the party. Even though it has been more than 2 months since the latest government formed, speculations on what really happened during the elections are not subsiding on social media. Several YSRC party leaders were seen talking about EVM tampering and unfair election results.
Some social media users are sharing a video showing a huge crowd along a huge water body in the background, with the claim that it was the crowd seen when YS Jaganmohan Reddy visited the flood-hit areas in Andhra Pradesh recently. The users go on to point out that when so many people are coming just to meet YS Jaganmohan Reddy, why they did not vote for him? The claim in Telugu goes “అసలు ఈ ఓట్లు ఎక్కడకి పోయాయి రా 11 ఎలా వచ్చాయి అసలు ఈ జనం చూసి EVM లా మీద నాకు కూడా డౌట్ వస్తుంది”. When translated, it reads: “Where did these votes go? How did they get 11? After seeing these people, I also have doubts about the EVMs”

The claim is False. The video does not show YS Jaganmohan Reddy visiting Flood-hit areas in Andhra Pradesh.
When we extracted the keyframes from the video and searched using reverse image search, we found several social media handles sharing the same video in July 2024. The video actually shows the participation of the cricket fans in the victory parade, that was conducted after the Men’s Indian cricket team won the World Cup.
Some users shared the same video with the captions like “How is the josh to see #TeamIndia Welcoming World Cup 2024 champions #VictoryParade “
According to MSN.com, which shared a similar image showing the crowd that the victory parade of the T20 World-winning Indian team commenced after a two-hour delay brought the traffic to a complete halt.
abplive also reported that Mumbai witnessed a massive crowd gathering during Team India’s victory parade in an open-top bus from Marine Drive to the Wankhede Stadium on July 4 upon the Indian team’s return from Barbados after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy. While the air was filled with a celebratory mood, there were a few incidents where the fans were injured during the parade.
Therefore, the viral video shows the crowd during the victory parade that took place after the historic win by the Indian cricket team in the World Cup Final. The claim that it shows a crowd during the leader of opposition in Andhra Pradesh, YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s visit to the flood-hit areas in Andhra Pradesh is False.
