Fact Check: Viral video of a mob assaulting a man with the claim that he is railway security personnel is misleading
A video of a mob assaulting a man on a railway line is viral on social media with netizens claiming the video shows Muslim Jihadis attacking a security man in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh.

The video is shared with the caption, “Hardoi, UP: Railway Gateman beaten by suspected Muslim Jihadis. They also proudly uploaded the attack video on social media.”
FACT CHECK:
A reverse image search led to finding reports by Prime TV India and UP Tak, dated August 12, stating that the viral video is related to an incident that took place in Hardoi.
As per the report, Saba Haider, a resident of Mahmudpur, accidentally hit a woman named Parveen from the Saraiya village and fled the scene, leaving his bike behind. When he arrived at his residence, Parveen's family were present there and had assaulted him. Later, Saba Haider headed to his shop, Parveen's relatives followed him and thrashed him again near the railway crossing.
There is no mention of any railway security man being involved in the case.
The official handle of Hardioi Police also confirmed the claim of a railway security man being involved in the case, was baseless and false. The Divisional Railway Manager of Moradabad also tweeted saying that no railway gateman was not involved.
Evidently, it is clear that violence was caused by villagers after an accident, which is being falsely shared as a railway gateman being beaten up by Muslims in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh
Thus, the claim is misleading.
