Meanwhile, a video of a woman devotee dropping bundles of currency notes into a donation box of a temple is in circulation with the claim that this donation was at Ayodhya Ram Temple.
Fact Check:
The claim is Misleading. The video shows a donation made to a temple in Rajasthan in the year 2023.
When we searched the keyframes extracted from the video, we found that the video was shared on social media in September 2023 with the caption “Jay Shri Sawaliya Seth”.
Another Instagram user shared the viral video with the caption: “A woman deposited 10 lakh rupees in the treasury of Savaliya Seth”.
According to Asianetnews.com, the video was shot in Sanwaliya Seth Temple located in the Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan, where an elderly woman, along with her family members, donated bundles of Rs 500 notes in the donation box of the Sanwaliya Seth. It is said that she donated around Rs 10 lakh.
The report also states that this donation happened on Krishnashtami day in September 2023.
When searched further, we found that The Sanwariya Seth Ji Mandir of Lord Krishna is located on the Chittorgarh-Udaipur Highway, about 40 kilometers from Chittorgarh, near Bhadsora, Mandaphiya, and Chapar. The deity is also known as Shri Sanwariya Seth, and is believed by Hindu devotees. Sanwariya Seth Ji Mandir is also known as Sanwaliya ji mandir.
Hence, the viral video of a woman dropping bundles of currency notes into a donation box at a temple is not from the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, but from Sanwaliya Seth Temple in Rajasthan.
