The states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, and northeastern states Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, etc. were hit by heavy rains leading to flooding in various parts. In Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, heavy rains even led to closure of roads for traffic. A few images of huge sinkholes developing on roads due to rain are in circulation on social media.

Meanwhile, a video showing a woman falling into a pothole is shared with a claim that this incident occurred on the Rampath, the newly built road in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The video shows a woman walking on a street and falling into a pothole—a few people rush to rescue her from the pothole filled with water.

The video is shared with caption in Hindi that goes ‘अयोध्या का शानदार रामपथ। When translated, it claims: ‘Ayodhya's magnificent Rampath. Only 13 km, built by a Gujarati company, at a cost of just 844 crores. Only 66 crores per kilometer! Friends, what could have been a better use of taxpayers' money than this? The virtue of bathing while walking!’
