NIA Files Charge-Sheet Against an Explosive Supplier and a key Conspirator in the Case of IED Blast by CPI Maoist in Lanji Forest, West Singhbhum District of Jharkhand (RC-02/2021/NIA/RNC)

Yesterday (25.01.2022), NIA filed 1st Supplementary Charge Sheet in RC - 02/2021/NIA/RNC, dtd 24.03.2021 against two accused persons namely Sukhram Ramtai @ Sukhram Tamariya and Jaiki Paradhi @ Jaiki @ JK u/s 120 (Substantive) 120B r/w 307, 302, 333, 353 of IPC, sections 4 & 6 of Explosive Substance Act and section 16, 18, 20, 38 & 39 of UA(P) Act, 1967 before the NIA Special Court, Ranchi, Jharkhand.
The case relates to an IED blast on 04.03.2021 around 8:30 am in Lanji Forest Hill Area, located under PS Toklo, Chakradharpur, West Singhbhum, Jharkhand resulting in the death of three personnel of Jharkhand Jaguar (STF) and grievous injuries to three others including one ASI of CRPF. The case was originally registered at Toklo Police Station, District West Singhbhum, Jharkhand as FIR No. 09/2021. NIA had re-registered the case as RC-No-02/2021/NIA/RNC on 24.03.2021 and had taken up the investigation. Earlier NIA had filed a charge sheet against nineteen accused persons on 07.09.2021 in this case.
The accused charge-sheeted yesterday Jaiki Paradhi @ Jaiki @ JK had procured Potash (explosive substance) from Beohari, District Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh and supplied it to other charge-sheeted accused Sukhram Ramtai and Sorto Mahali at Chakradharpur, West Singhbhum, Jharkhand. Almost 700 kgs of Potash was procured illegally from MP and brought in several consignments for delivery to CPI Maoists in Jharkhand. These explosives were further supplied to the senior armed leaders of CPI(Maoist) which were used by them for making IEDs and targeting the security forces.
Further investigation in the case continues.
