AMARAVATI: TDP state general secretary Panchumarty Anuradha on Friday advised YCP women ministers to focus on women safety instead of passing cheap comments on Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh.
Anuradha termed it shameful on the part of Minister Roja to become busy enjoying boat rides while women were facing all sorts of atrocities all over the State. The minister didn't make any efforts to help the gang-rape victim in the Vijayawada Government General Hospital (GGH).
Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader asked whether Jagan Mohan Reddy has given Cabinet berth to Roja only to pass indecent comments on sarees and the like. Vidadala Rajani made huge fuss till she became the minister but now, she was finding no time to ensure better treatment to the gang-rape victim.
Anuradha said home minister Taneti Vanitha was also least bothered about the GGH victim and she was solely busy visiting and thanking bigwigs who helped her to get the ministerial berth. It was unfortunate that the women ministers seemed to be competing with cine stars and craving for shopping mall inaugurations.
The TDP leader said the women ministers were trying to please their CM more by making inappropriate comments against Chandrababu Naidu and the Telugu Desam Party. They were not at all bothered about women's issues. These ministers were bent on creating traffic problems by showing off with their grand visits and police convoys.
Condemning the YCP attitude, Anuradha said the AP Women's Commission was turned into a pocket organisation for the ruling party. Chairperson Vasireddy Padma's behaviour at the Vijayawada GGH was highly condemnable. Instead of rescuing the victims, Padma preferred foul mouthing against the former Chief Minister.
The TDP leader demanded the Women's Commission to explain what action it has taken against the ruling YSRCP culprits involved in atrocities on women. Why didn't Vasireddy Padma take any action in cases filed against YCP MLAs, Ministers and MPs.
Anuradha termed it as a cowardly act on the part of the YSRCP leaders to obstruct the tour of Nara Lokesh in Duggirala. It was a shame that the woman home minister had no idea whether the atrocity had taken place. If Roja had given birth to girls, she would not have made demeaning comments against women.
