The Andhra Pradesh government is bracing up for the launch of Village Secretariats on October 2 with the concerted efforts of various departments which will be the largest recruitment in public employment that would provide jobs to over 4 lakh people in the state.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during a review meeting of Village Secretariats here on Wednesday enquired about the progress of various works in progress and congratulated the officials for successfully completing the competitive exams for Village Secretaries.
The officials said that special training is being given to those who work in the Call Centres that would be used by Village Volunteers and Village Secretaries. While 1902 is the Call Center number for registering complaints and grievances, there should also be a dedicated number locally to respond for emergencies, the Chief Minister said. The results of Villages Secretaries will be ready by this month-end.
The Chief Minister has examined the job chart of Village Volunteers and staff of the Village Secretariats and said that the infrastructure, including buildings, furniture fixtures, hardware and other equipment should be ready by the deadline and suggested that all buildings should be identical.
The Village Secretariats would provide 237 services to the citizens from various Departments of which 115 services will be cleared within 72 hours and remaining 122 in more than 72 hours. The calendar of welfare schemes was listed out at the meeting. The chief minister told the officials that there should be no inconvenience caused to the people on any service that is offered at the Village Secretariats. He wanted better coordination with all the staff of the Village Secretariats by the district level officials
